Devlog 05: We keep grinding ;)


Hello Again

Another week, another devlog! It was just another week of production, so let's get straight into it!

Say hello to Moon and Noon

These are our two beautiful protagonist and original owners of the mansion!
Now you can look at them up close, which one are you going to play as? :)

The main animations are in Unreal Engine already, waiting to be fully implemented! Seeing them move around and having our main character inside the scene already really brings the project to life!


Art pipeline in working!

We are working hard to optimize our workflow and make assets as fast as possible, without losing quality! During prototyping, we already tested out a substance painter smart material. Right now we finetuned it, added some reusable textures and alphas and tested it out! 



I think we can say our first results are a big succes! Especially if you know each prop only takes us about 30-40 to import, texture, export and put into UE5! With this workflow tried and tested we are ready to tackle the rest of the assets!

More in the work..

Now we're up and running, and getting the workflow in our hands, be sure to see a lot of new assets by next week!

For example this handsome chap on the left, do you still remember which role he plays in our game? If not, stay tuned for next week ;)

Don't drop these!

Our programmers have been working really hard to implement our planned features! Below for example we see our picking up mechanic in play, crucial if you need to reverse-rob your own house!

Animation!

The enemy AI has its logic improved even more! Animation blending is going on and everything! Now it's just a question of finding the proper Mixamo animations ;) What do you think this guy is doing right now?

The head turns dynamically towards the players! This makes the AI way more flexible in which animation state it can be and stay in when it spots the player

Movement

And of course the core of our game, moving a coffin with 2 players at once is getting the polish and smoothness it deserves!

Wrapping Up + Funny bugs

Its been a good week for us! We had a few funny moments we wanted to share :)


1) Our enemy might not be so bad after all, he has an unexpected heart (and soul)!


2) Carrying a coffin using telepathy, that's how every vampire does it of course!


3) She's so tinyyyyy!
